HISTORICAL MARKER HONORING LAKETOWN & MEADOWVILLE SETTLEMENT

I am delighted to announce the culmination of years of hard work: a Historical Marker commemorating the settlement and early history of Laketown and Meadowville will soon stand at the new rest area along Bear Lake. Thanks to the dedication and sacrifices of our early settlers, we now revel in the vibrancy of our lake community.

This endeavor has truly been a collaborative effort. Alongside the Laketown Daughters of Utah Pioneers (D.U.P.) and the International Society of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, as well as the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), we united to turn this dream into reality. The Laketown D.U.P. has championed this project for nearly five years, and with my involvement, we navigated obstacles, connected with the right individuals for approval, and transformed our vision into tangible progress. It serves as a testament to what can be accomplished when we combine our resources and determination with a shared purpose.

A beautiful boulder has been secured from Bill's Construction, and production of the marker is underway. We extend an invitation to celebrate this milestone with us. Stay tuned for details regarding our upcoming ribbon-cutting event.

Date: Will Be Announced Soon
